ENGINE: The 3.0L M272 V6 -- 228 horsepower, naturally aspirated, port injected, chain driven. Port injection keeps the intake valves clean, so it avoids the carbon buildup direct-injection engines are known for. Mercedes went to direct injection on the V6 that replaced it.

MILEAGE: 46,188 miles on a 2010 -- roughly 2,900 a year, about a fifth of the 15,000-mile national average, with no odometer problems reported. On a timing-chain V6, this car is barely broken in.
